General Notes: Husband - Isaac Rider

When he was still an infant his parents moved to the farm in German township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, purchased in 1838, and there he was educated and grew to manhood. He always followed agriculture as a business, finally becoming the owner of the family homestead after the death of his father. He was a stock raiser and dealer, adding largely to the profits of his farm in his dealings of that nature. In 1908 he sold the homestead to his son, Joseph Gilbert, and retired to a comfortable home on Derrick avenue, Uniontown, where he died. He and his wife were members of the Lutheran church, and he was a Democrat in politics.
