General Notes: Husband - Michael Rider

The Rider family came to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, prior to 1838, as a deed yet extant shows that Michael Rider, in September, 1838, bought one hundred and thirty acres of land in German township, and had then been in the county several years. He lived on his purchase and made it his home until his death at the age of eighty-four years. He was of German descent, and a devout member of the Lutheran church.
