General Notes: Husband - John W. Gardner
He received a common school education. After their father's removal to Irwin, Pennsylvania, he and his brother Joseph remained on the home farm, which they cultivated until Mr. Gardner's marriage, when he moved to a farm which became his home and which was purchased for him by his father. This property, which was known as the "old H. T. Lowry farm," was said to be the finest in the county. His vote and his political influence were given to the Republican party.
