General Notes: Husband - Alexander A. Read
He passed the days of his boyhood and youth on the home farm. After marriage, they located on a farm in what was then Goshen, but later was Lawrence township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, which he successfully operated. Later, they were living in West Clearfield.
He obtained his education in the common schools of Lawrence township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. After his marriage he resided for some time in Goshen township, but subsequently removed to Lawrence township, where he followed lumbering and operated a farm of 240 acres. During the last five years of his life he lived in retirement at Clearfield, where he died at the age of 74 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and he was politically a stanch Democrat.
