General Notes: Husband - James A. Alexander Read

He was a child when the family moved, in 1803, to the new home which the father had prepared for them in Lawrence township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
After his marriage he settled on a tract of forest land, of which in due time he made into a fine farm. He became prominent in local affairs, filling various offices of trust, including that of county commissioner. In political faith he was a steadfast Democrat.
