General Notes: Husband - Joseph B. Myers

He acquired a common school education, and assisted his father with the farm work until he was about twenty-one years old. He then purchased one hundred and twenty-five acres of good farming land near Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he lived for eleven years, when he bought a farm of one hundred and eight acres, south of Mount Pleasant, upon which he lived for eleven years, engaging in the cultivation of the farm. The next five years he lived at a Mount Pleasant home. He then purchased a large farm three miles north of Mount Pleasant, where he remained five years, and which he subsequently sold to the H. C. Frick Company, and returned to his home in the village of Mount Pleasant, where he then resided. He still owned three farms in Mount Pleasant and East Huntingdon townships. In political relations Mr. Myers affiliated with the Republican party, and served for about seven years as a member of the school board. For more than forty years he was a member and deacon of the German Baptist church.
