General Notes: Husband - George McElhaney

---

He was a life-long farmer, and owned 300 acres. After his marriage he settled near his father's residence, and lived there sixteen years. He then purchased 199 acres, and by subsequent purchase accumulated more property.

He was educated in the district schools, and at an early age assisted with the labors of the home farm. He had a tract of six hundred acres of land which he cultivated to good advantage.
