General Notes: Husband - William McElhaney

He was the owner of eight hundred acres of land at the time of his death, a part of this being in the state of Ohio. He was born in Independence township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and when he went to the farm which he later occupied he was obliged to blaze his way through the trackless forest, and clear the land of the timber with which it was overgrown. At the time of the Mexican War he enlisted in the American army, but after his arrival at Lake Erie, he hired a substitute and returned to his family.

He died at the age of seventy-six years.

General Notes: Wife - Lydia Strouss

She died at the age of seventy-six years.
