General Notes: Husband - George Reed

He was born in Ireland and came with his parents to Pennsylvania in 1821, and to Butler County, in 1837. He resided with his parents until his father's death, when the farm came into his possession. He made most of the improvements thereon, and resided on the homestead until his death. He was a cooper, and after coming to Butler County worked at his trade a few years in Freeport. He was reared in the Associate church, and joined the United Presbyterian church in 1857, being one of the original members of the Centreville organization. In politics, he was originally a Whig, and afterwards a Republican.
