General Notes: Husband - Charles Craven Sullivan, Sr.

He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and was with General Washington at Valley Forge. It was there that he met a modest Quakeress who subsequently became his wife. On a mission of mercy, she, with her sister, had gone to the camp of the starving patriot soldiers with baskets of food. After the close of his military service, he sought her and married her.

General Notes: Wife - Susannah Johnston

During the Revolutionary War, on a mission of mercy, she, with her sister, went to the camp of the starving patriot soldiers at Valley Forge with baskets of food. It was there that she met the man who would later become her husband. After the close of his military service, he sought out her and married her. She was consistent in her religious belief, always wore the Quaker garb, and, by her request, was dressed in it at her burial.

Notes: Marriage

They were married by Bishop Asbury, of the M. E. Church. [HBC 1883, 56]
