General Notes: Husband - Moses Sullivan

He was born at William Long's place, near the head of Saw Mill Run, about five miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was elected representative in 1822 and 1823, and state senator in 1824, serving three terms in the Senate.

He was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and came to Butler County with the family in 1797. He availed himself of all the means within his reach to secure an education, and became a scholarly man. With his brother John he established the Butler Centinel in 1820, represented Butler County in both branches of the General Assembly for many years, and was president of the state board of canal commissioners under Governor Ritner's administration. He was a modest, unassuming and popular gentleman, and the people often expressed their confidence in him. He and his wife had three children. [HBC 1895, 676]
