General Notes: Husband - Solomon Suter
He was born on his father's farm and there he lived all his life, following the occupation of a distiller and farmer. In politics he was a Democrat, and held the office of justice of the peace, for about sixteen years. He was an active, prominent member of the Lutheran church, and held the office of elder.
He spent his life on the place that he was born engaged in agricultural pursuits, but was very well known in the community and held the position of justice of the peace for many years. His work in this connection was greatly assisted by the fact that he spoke both English and German, as both these languages were common in the western part of Pennsylvania at that time. He was noted for being able to settle many of the cases that came up before him without the necessity of going to trial, and he also married many of the couples of that day and district. He was a Democrat in politics, and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
