General Notes: Husband - Samuel Bryan
He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was only three years of age when his parents removed to Westmoreland County. His childhood was spent on his father's farm, and in early youth he was trained to the tasks of farm life. He followed in the footsteps of his father by engaging in farming, which he followed practically his entire life, continuing to occupy the old homestead. A Democrat in politics, he served his township as school director, supervisor and in other minor offices. In his religious belief he was a Lutheran and was an elder and deacon in Old Zion Church.
