General Notes: Husband - Nathan Carrier

In the year 1820 six brothers, Hiram, Darius, George, Nathan, Euphrastus and John Carrier, purchased ninety-six acres of land and all the mills at Troy, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, they and their descendants continuing to own the same for many years, rebuilding the mills several times. He especially became extensively engaged in lumbering in Jefferson County. He had come here from Connecticut (the early home of the family) in pioneer times, and was one of the first settlers at Summerville. He died at the age of seventy-three years. [HJC 1917 ii, 196]
