General Notes: Husband - Thomas Carrier

He was a carpenter and shoemaker by trade, and lived at various times in the states of Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, finally settling in 1820, in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.

He was born in Massachusetts, a descendant of a Colonial family, and was reared to manhood in his native state, as a young man going to Connecticut. He and his wife were married in Connecticut, and after residing for a time in New York state, came to Pennsylvania, first settling near Freeport, Armstrong County. Later they came to Jefferson County, and were pioneers in Beaver township, their old homestead being later owned and occupied by Hulitt Smith, three miles south of Summerville. [HJC 1917 ii, 270]

He died on what was known as the "Hulet Smith farm". The source gives different locations for this place: Jefferson County, Pennsylvania [GPHAV, 618] or near Troy, New York [GPHAV, 619].
