General Notes: Husband - Valentine Bowser

Some of his children were born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, and in 1808 they moved to the vicinity of what is now Worthington, Armstrong County. They settled on a farm, later known as the Daugherty place, up the creek, one mile north of Walkchalk.

He was from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and was the first of this branch of the Bowser family to come to Armstrong County. He settled in East Franklin township, obtaining wild land which he cleared. He was a stonemason by trade.

He was reared on the farm of his father in Hopewell Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, about 4 miles west of Hopewell on the Loysburg road. He came to Armstrong County, with his wife and seven children, in 1815. They crossed the Allegheny River 2½ miles north of Kittanning, and traveled up the ravine later known as Furnace Run, and took up land one mile north of Walk Chalk, and there raised their family. He and his wife adhered to the use of their native speech, the Palatine German.

During the many years of his active career he [Abram Bowser] was a prominent and influential farmer in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he married and reared to maturity a family of children.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Fluke

from Hopewell, Bedford Co, PA

Her people came from Switzerland and spoke the same language as the Palatine Germans.

She died in the home of her daughter Margaret Bowser, wife of Jonas Bowser, in Washington Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
