General Notes: Husband - Carl Jacob Scholl
He came to Pennsylvania in the Ship "Loyal Judith," Edward Painter, Master, and qualified at the Port of Philadelphia, September 3, 1739, his name being written for him by a clerk as "Caral Sholl," to which he made his mark. The Pennsylvania Archives print this as "Carle Shoul" and Rupp renders it "Carl Scholl." He settled in what was known as "Allemaengel," Lynn township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and there, as "Charles Shoule" he got a warrant for 100 acres of land "adjoining George Siseloch" (probably "Ziesloff"), September 5, 1748. This can hardly have been any other person than the immigrant of 1739, though a son of the same name, too young to register in 1739, might have just come of age in time to secure the warrant. On the above warrant were surveyed, not merely 100 acres and allowances, but altogether nearly 300 acres, which were later patented in six several plats to as many different persons.
He died somewhere in Pennsylvania, either in his old home in Lynn township, Northampton County, or somewhere among his scattered children.
General Notes: Wife - Anna Barbara [Unk]
The date and place of her birth are unknown, but it was likely in the Rhein valley of Germany and before 1715.
Notes: Marriage
Besides the children listed, there may have been several other children, as there were others of right age to be of the same family, and in the right geographical position also, but no documentary proofs have establish the connection, as: (1) Dorothea Scholl who married Frederick Zern, and Christina (Dieny) Scholl who married a Dreibelbiss, both of whom seem pretty surely of the group; (2) Abraham Scholl with wife Anna Maria, whose child Elizabeth, born April 6, 1771, baptized May 19, at Ebenezer Church, Lynn township, was sponsored by David Frey, and a Johan Jacob Scholl who was in Brunswick township, Berks County,
very near to Lynn, and of right age to be of the family.
