General Notes: Husband - Daniel Bailey
He was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and when about seventeen years of age came with his parents to Clearfield County. After his marriage he purchased a farm upon which he lived for a few years, when he sold that property and bought another farm on which his son Abraham later resided, the land having been patented by Mr. Passman [sic], an honored pioneer of the county. He became owner of one hundred acres, which he placed under a high state of cultivation, and from time to time added to that property until he owned more than four hundred acres in the homestead. At various times he bought and sold land not only in Pennsylvania, but also in the West, and his investments were generally profitable. He also purchased timber land, and engaged in the manufacture of lumber. He mined coal as well, and with great energy prosecuted his business interests until he had accumulated a fine estate. He also aided his children in getting a start in life, and at his death disposed by will of his property to the value of $10,000. In early life he gave his political support to the Whig party, and later became a stanch Republican, taking great interest in the party. He was reared in the faith of the Society of Friends, and always adhered to their beliefs. [CBRCP-CCJC, 605]
He was born in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, and on moving to Clearfield County settled in Pike township and cleared a farm of 300 acres, where he and his wife passed their later years. He was of the Quaker faith. [CBRCP-CCJC, 658]
He was born in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. After marriage they lived on the Lydia Way farm in Pike Township, Clearfield County, which was later owned by Leonard Neeper, and on that place their three oldest children were born. They then moved to another farm, which was later occupied by their grandson, Lewis E. Bailey. It was then a tract of 100 acres to which Daniel Bailey added until he owned 400 acres. He cleared practically the entire farm and lived on it until his death. On this farm nine more children were born. [TCHCCP, 791]
