General Notes: Husband - John Miller
He inherited the family homestead from his father, but was obliged to pay out of its value certain other bequests left by the elder man, so that the place was reduced from a tract of one hundred and fifty acres to one of a hundred and two acres. Here he lived and eventually died at the age of seventy-four years. In the meantime he carried on successful farming operations there.
After marriage he took charge of the old farm for Mr. Long, his wife's father, who had built a large and commodious barn there in 1850, the farm house in 1863. There Mr. Long died, and there John Miller also met his death, and his son, Jonas Peter Miller, made his home there.
