General Notes: Husband - John R. McClure

---

He obtained his early education at the old Oakland school-house, after which he was engaged in agricultural pursuits and also followed lumbering. He owned 140 acres of excellent land, situated three miles southwest of
Curwensville, Pennsylvania. He always lived on this farm with the exception of a short time spent in Penn township, and erected all the farm buildings standing on the place. All his land was well cultivated except seventy-five acres in woodland and pasturage. He raised fine Guernsey cattle of high grade.
He and his family attended the Friends' church. He was identified with Susquehanna Grange.
