General Notes: Husband - William Rankin

He was brought up on a farm, and was educated in the common schools of North Union township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. His business was farming, which he followed all of his life. He owned a finely improved farm, where he resided, and owned valuable property in Uniontown, as well.
In politics Mr. Rankin was a stanch democrat, but he held the office of supervisor in a strong republican township. He was a strong temperance man.
