General Notes: Husband - John A. Davis

He acquired his education in the district school in the vicinity of his boyhood home, and was then apprenticed to learn the trade of shoemaking, with which he was identified until 1861. In that year he engaged in the oil producing business at Tidioute, Warren County, Pennsylvania, followed this three years, then purchased a farm of thirty acres east of Meadville, where he lived for a number of years, and finally made his home in Meadville.
