General Notes: Husband - Rev. Thomas [2] Hanna, D.D.
He was a minister. Settled in Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio, about 1821; removed to Washington, Pennsylvania, about 1848.
He was born in North Buffalo, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he received his preparatory education, afterward entering Jefferson College and graduating in 1818. He then took up the study of theology with Dr. Anderson, of Service, Pennsylvania, and in 1821 was ordained to the ministry. Dr. Hanna filled several pastorates, resigning his charge at Cadiz, Ohio, in 1849, and shortly after taking charge of a church at Washington, Pennsylvania, where he served during the remainder of his life.
He was first installed over Cadiz, Ohio, Piney Fork and Willis Creek. From 1851 to 1862 he was pastor at Washington, Pennsylvania. He was Stated Clerk of the Associate Synod from 1842 to 1858, when that denomination became one of the constituent parts of the United Presbyterian Church.
