General Notes: Husband - James Glenn
Two different names are given for the father of this family, compare TCHBC, 572 and TCHBC, 1133.
He died before the family moved to Butler County, PA. [TCHBC, 572]
He brought his family to Butler County, PA. [TCHBC, 1133]
He came to Clay Township, Butler County, PA, settled in the depths of the woods, built his little log house there and with the assistance of his sons, cleared up a farm. [TCHBC, 1133]
In 1808 Joseph, John, James, William and Samuel Glenn, sons of James and Janet (Sterling) Glenn, natives of York county, Pennsylvania, who had removed to Westmoreland county, came from the latter county with their mother and three sisters, to Butler county, and located on lands in Clay township previously purchased by their father, who died prior to effecting a settlement. The mother was a shrewd business woman, and to her foresight was largely due the purchase of the Glenn lands in Clay township. [HBC 1895, 1044]
