General Notes: Husband - James Glenn

About the year 1800, the brothers, Joseph, John, James, William and Samuel Glenn, came from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and located on lands situated mostly in the northeast corner of Clay and the southwest corner of Washington Townships. Their father had visited this region, and purchased the land, but died just prior to the removal of his sons and widow to the property.

The brothers were settlers of 1803 and the women of the family came in 1808. [TCHBC, 572]

He inherited a part of the lands purchased by his father in what is now Clay township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and resided there until his death. He reared a family of nine children, seven of whom were still living in 1895.
