General Notes: Husband - James Harton

---

He was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania; he was a mason by trade, and resided in Beaver County from 1820 until his death. [HBC 1888, 660]

He was graduated from the Philadelphia Medical College but never practiced medicine. He lived in Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, owned a fine farm in Brighton township, and was engaged in the building, brick and stone business.

He was born in Scotland, and emigrated to America after his marriage. He settled in Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, where he conducted a brewery for a number of years. Subsequently he retired to a farm in New Brighton township, where his death occurred. [GPHBC, 968] Much of this is clearly contradicted by other sources.

She was born in Scotland. [GPHBC, 968] After the death of her husband she sold the farm on which they had been living and returned to Beaver, Pennsylvania, where she died.
