General Notes: Husband - Robert F. Smith


He succeeded to the ownership of the parental homestead, and there spent his entire life.

He was among the original Abolitionists and Republicans, and in his religious faith a stanch and active Methodist. His wife was a member of the Presbyterian church, and a fine Christian woman, of the old school.

He and his wife had twelve children; nine reached mature years.
