General Notes: Husband - William Smith


He was born of Scotch ancestry in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, and as a young man went as a pioneer to Liberty Township, Mercer County, where he improved a homestead, on which he and his wife spent the remainder of their lives.

He migrated from Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, to Mercer County, before the War of 1812, in which he was a soldier. For his patriotic services, he received a grant containing about three hundred acres of land, upon which he resided until his death at an advanced age.
