General Notes: Husband - Jay Curtis Jamison


For his education he attended the local public school, and later went to Mercersburg, where he attended the academy of that name. Upon completing his studies at the latter institution, he became associated with The Jamison Coal and Coke Company, and later was elected a director. He was vice-president and general manager of the South Union Coal Company at Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and was a stockholder in the New Alexandria Coke Company, of Greensburg, and a director in the Union Trust Company, of Greensburg. He was regarded as one of the most influential figures in coal circles throughout the region.
He was a staunch member of the Republican Party, although he takes no active part in local politics. For years he supported the work of the Young Men's Christian Association. He also was a member of the local lodges of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. In the matter of his religious belief, Mr. Jamison was a member of the Second Reformed Church of Greensburg.
