General Notes: Husband - George Nicely


He was born in the log house built by his grandfather, and became by his father's will owner of the homestead. He cleared more of the land, the home farm then comprising two hundred acres, and he also purchased other farms in the township. One of these consisted of one hundred and thirty acres, another of one hundred and two others of one hundred and forty each. Mr. Nicely built new barns and outhouses and also erected a substantial dwelling. He was a Democrat, and an active member of the Lutheran church, his wife being associated with the German Reformed Church.
