General Notes: Husband - John Sloan

He came with his wife, Elizabeth, to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in the autumn of 1797, and settled in Salem township, on land later owned by ex-Superintendent H. M. Jones. The land through the southern part of the county was owned by one James Campbell, from whom John Steel bought a mill and divided with his brother-in-law, John Sloan.
