General Notes: Husband - Robert Sloan


The ancestors of this family came from Scotland and Ireland, and settled in what is now Franklin County, Pennsylvania, near the Maryland line.

His mother was captured by the Indians and taken to the Indian village of Kittanning, where she was kept a prisoner for two and one-half years. After enduring great hardships she escaped and reached Fort Wyoming, after which she returned to her home.

He died at the age of seventy-eight.
