General Notes: Husband - John Zundel

At an early age he went to live with John Snyder of near Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. On attaining his majority he engaged in farming on a tract of land containing one hundred and six acres, near Mt. Pleasant, which was willed to him. In 1852, upon the death of John Snyder and his wife, he purchased their farm in Rostraver township. He was very successful in business and successively bought the Slatterback, Robert Patterson and McClellan farms in the same township. He was a strictly honest man and was a strong democrat, a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian church and had an estate worth $50,000 at the time of his death. [BHCWC, 648]

His wife bore him six children, of whom four were still living in 1890.

He was born near Greensburg, Westmoreland County, removed to Mt. Pleasant township, and again in 1854 removed to Rostraver township where he purchased a farm of one hundred and sixty-eight acres from Capt. John Snyder, and thereafter followed farming till the close of his life. He was a leading member of the German Lutheran church, while in politics he was a follower of the illustrious Jackson. He was the father of seven children. [BHCWC, 649]
