General Notes: Husband - William Spackman

He was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania, but from the age of nine years his life was spent in Lawrence township, Clearfield County. The schools of that locality afforded him an education, and on attaining manhood he cleared for himself a farm in the forest, known as the Read farm.

He was a member of the Friends' church at Curwensville; his wife was a Presbyterian. In early life he was an old-line Whig, but in later years became a Democrat.
