General Notes: Husband - John Myers, Sr.

He was a native of Germany who came to America prior to the Revolution and served in that struggle for liberty. After the close of the war he settled in Virginia, and resided there until his removal to Butler County, Pennsylvania. About 1805 he accompanied John Boston, William Beighley, Adam Albert, and John Moon to Butler County, and settled upon what was later the Bauder farm, in Muddy Creek township, but through an imperfect title or some other cause he lost the property. He then purchased 400 acres, situated where David Myers' heirs, John Myers, and William and Charles Myers, would later reside, upon which he resided until his death. He and his wife were pioneer members of the Lutheran church of Lancaster township.
