General Notes: Husband - John Hart


He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and a member of the
Colonial Legislature, and after much difficulty in keeping his whereabouts secret he was finally permitted to return to his farm following the battles of Princeton and Trenton. He was tall in stature, with heavy black hair and blue eyes, and possessed an affectionate disposition. He was called "Honest John Hart" and highly esteemed in his community.
