General Notes: Husband - Josiah Michael Miller

Manor Valley, Westmoreland Co, PA

Being the eldest child [sic], and owing to the limited educational advantages of the earlier days, he had meagre opportunities for acquiring an education. He began life as a farmer and after eighteen years of experience in that line he embarked in the grain business at Manor in 1867. In connection with this he also engaged in stock-dealing. An active republican and a man of good business qualifications, he was appointed postmaster at Manor station in May, 1889. He belonged to the I. O. O. F., A. O. U. W., and Jr. O. U. A. M.
