General Notes: Husband - John Peter Miller


He was born at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where in early life he followed shoemaking but later purchased a farm in Hempfield township and became a husbandman. In politics he was a democrat until the Fremont campaign in 1856, when he became a republican. He was a great reader and a well-informed man.
