General Notes: Husband - Alexander Erwin

He was born in the north of Ireland in 1776, and when twenty-one years of age came to America with his father.
He was brought up on the farm and was engaged in farming until his
death, which occurred quite suddenly from heart disease. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Politically he was a Whig.

He and his wife were the parents of eleven children, eight of whom lived to be grown, five dying within one year of typhoid fever, and four were still living in 1887.
