General Notes: Husband - Joseph D. Scott

He resided on the old family homestead in Hanover township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.

During his earlier years attended the common schools and worked on the home place. After marriage they located for a short time on the Donaldson homestead in Hanover township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he followed farming for a time, then engaged in the mercantile business at Bavington, Pennsylvania, thence moving to Cannelton, Beaver County. This line of business proving unprofitable, he came in 1876 to the home farm, where he then engaged in agriculture. In politics Mr. Scott was a firm Democrat. Both he and his wife were members of the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.
