General Notes: Husband - Samuel Davidson
He received a common-school education, and about 1864 began farming for himself. He enlisted Aug. 4, 1861, in Co. G, 136th P. V. I., assigned to the Army of the Potomac. At the battle of Fredericksburg he was wounded by a shell in the foot, and was in hospital one month. He then obtained a sixty days' furlough, came home, and was discharged May 30, 1862.
He was engaged in general farming in Plum township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he owned a farm of one hundred and ten acres. At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted in Company G, One Hundred and Thirty-sixth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and served until 1864. He was wounded in the foot by a bullet at the battle of Fredericksburg, and at that time lay in the hospital for several weeks.
He gave his political support to the Republican party, and was a devout member of the Methodist church.
He enlisted Aug. 22, 1862; mustered out May 29, 1863. [HPV iv, 329]
