General Notes: Husband - Joseph L. Dennison
He was reared and educated at Jamestown, Mercer County, PA, and at the age of fifteen entered the employ of Joseph Carr, with whom he remained until he entered into partnership with him in 1867. In 1888 he severed his connection with Mr. Carr, and engaged in gent's clothing and furnishings business. In 1880 he was appointed postmaster for Jamestown, which position he filled until 1885. He was a member of the F. & A. M., Lodge No. 424, of Jamestown, Royal Arch Chapter No. 212, of Greenville, PA, and Mount Olivet Commandery No. 30, of Erie, PA. He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Jamestown. He took an active interest in educational matters, and politically he was a Republican. [HMC 1888, 1206]
When a lad of fifteen he entered the employ of Joseph Carr, and continued in that capacity until he formed a partnership with his employer in 1867. But in 1877 he severed his connection with Mr. Carr and established a business of his own, dealing in clothing and gentlemen’s furnishing goods, and he has thus been an active factor in the local field of trade for thirty years. In 1880 he received his appointment as postmaster of Jamestown and filled that position with credit for five years. Mr. Dennison has been a member of the Masonic fraternity for many years and is now connected with Jamestown Lodge No. 424, with the Royal Arch Chapter No. 212 of Greenville, with Calvary Commandery No. 67 of Greenville, and with Zem Zem Temple of the Mystic Shrine of Erie.
