General Notes: Husband - Alvin C. Edwards

He grew to manhood on the home farm, and received his education in the public schools. He devoted his entire life to farming, but did not become a landowner until 1908, when he purchased a farm of about one hundred and thirty-two acres, which he had rented for many years. On his farm was a valuable sand deposit, from which he shipped many carloads of sand annually. He was a director of the Union National Bank of Connellsville and a capable and successful business man. He was a public-spirited citizen, extremely generous, and of a quiet, contented spirit, enjoying the company of his books, and of an intelligent and genial disposition. He was a Democrat, and a member of the Presbyterian church, his wife of the Methodist Episcopal church.
