He attended the schools and high school in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, and also Allegheny College, from which he was graduated. Later he attended Harvard University. He was the junior member of the firm of McClure Brothers, his brother James Perry being the senior member. Politically, he was a supporter of the Republican Party. [HMC 1909, 841]
