General Notes: Husband - John Hupp

The untimely death of his father made a deep impression on his mind and he had the fixed determination to do all he could to exterminate the native American race. The departure of the Indians from the region prevented his carrying out any part of his designs and he turned his attention to hunting and trapping. He acquired the reputation of being the most skilled marksman in the entire country.
In the division of property under the old English law which then prevailed there, he received more than 600 acres of his father's place, while each of the girls received 300 acres.
