General Notes: Husband - David Aiken
He was born during the time of the family residence in Ohio. He remained in Wayne township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, whither his father had removed, until 1845, when he obtained possession of a tract of land in extent 267 acres in Shenango township. Here he farmed until his death. He was a Whig, and he served as assessor, as school director, and as a delegate to the first county convention ever held in Lawrence County.
The family attended the United Presbyterian Church, where he acted as trustee for many years. He was a colonel in the State militia and was commonly known as Col. David Aiken.
