Slippery Rock Twp, Lawrence Co, PA
He followed the shoemaking business, and kept a shoe store and repair shop in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he lived at the time of his death. When only sixteen years of age he went to the front, during the Civil War, first as fifer for Company F., One Hundredth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, in which latter he carried a gun and served until the close of the war. He was a member of the order of United Workmen.
