General Notes: Husband - John H. Clopp


He was born in Ligonier township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and was educated in the common schools. He worked among the farmers until twenty-five years of age, and then purchased the farm which then became his home, and to the cultivation of which he gave his exclusive attention. His estate was comprised of one hundred and seven acres, was situated one mile southwest of Ligonier. He made a specialty of the dairy business, keeping from eighteen to twenty cows and shipping his products to Pittsburgh. For two years Mr. Clopp served as treasurer of his township. He belonged to Ligonier Lodge, No. 964, I. O. O. F., of Ligonier, and passed all the chairs. In politics he was a Republican. He and his family were members of the Presbyterian church of Ligonier, in which he held the office of trustee.
