General Notes: Husband - Sylvanus Cooper
He was born in Slippery Rock township, Butler County, PA, and spent his entire life on the old family homestead. He obtained his education in the common schools, and made farming his life vocation. Both he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church, and in politics, he was a Republican. He filled several of the township offices, and was one of the leading and enterprising farmers of the community.
