General Notes: Husband - George Washington Collins
He was born in Penn township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In 1857, he removed to West Lebanon, and worked for his brother Joseph, in the latter's factory. From 1866 to 1877, he conducted the manufacture of threshing machines, &c., on his own account.
The Collins Threshing Machine Factory was commenced in 1877 at the present location, having been removed from West Lebanon. The product was four-horse and tumbling shaft threshing machines, sleds, harrows, &c., and met with a sale directly from the factory. The works were situated on Blacklegs near the centre of the township.
